TRAINING & WORKSHOPS
David Fincham Aquaculture offers workshops to new and existing clients. The workshops can be held at the farm in Muldersdrift or at the farmer’s premises and either as a one on one session or in group session depending on the client’s needs. I run sessions for students, government departments and farming groups. The workshops cover aspects and practical demonstrations of Tilapia Farming. Wet hands experience is the basis for the workshops as the transfer of skills is vitally important to the farmer.
The David Fincham Aquaculture Training Programme is offered to our Tilapia Farm clients as part of the Client’s Farm Development Package but can be purchased separately too.
The course covers 10 Modules and includes all the Learner Manuals, Practical session and knowledge tests. The training is conducted both off site and on the farm. Students may also achieve SETA accreditation through our SETA accredited service provider. It is recommended that a minimum of 4 students are trained per farm module.
Farmer’s Days are run on a regular basis and will be advertised in our newsletters. These days are programmed to showcase the farm, network with our clients and to meet with Fellow “Tilapians”. The days can include presentations, discussions, guest speakers, suppliers, practical demonstrations, cooking, and social events.
